Crops of Luv
Crops of Luv was inspired in April 2007 when a little girl was
granted a wish to Disney
World to have a tea party with the princesses. Upon her return, a
group of scrapbook
enthusiasts created the biggest princess album ever! When the group
realized the
tremendous impact the album had on the child receiving the book,
Crops of Luv was
born. Since then, thousands of books have been created for every
imaginable wish
adventure.
Crops of Luv co-founder, Jody McNelis, works closely with Give Kids the World which
serves 30 plus wish organizations in the U.S. and Canada. Give Kids the World Village is a 79-acre "storybook" resort in Central Florida fully staffed by
volunteers. It is here that
children with life threatening illnesses and their families are
treated to weeklong, costfree
vacations. Families are invited to take photos that document their
trip and send
them to Crops of Luv. Upon receipt of the photos, the Crops of Luv
volunteers create a
one-of-a-kind, personalized album for the wish child and family.
The mission of Crops of Luv is to create memory books for
children and families that
preserve their memories and dreams because a life documented is a
life remembered.
This complimentary service is supplied by donations of both supplies
and time by
volunteers. Currently, a core group of 50 volunteers throughout the
Phoenix and Tucson
area work to fill the numerous album requests each month. As of the
organization grows,
volunteers from around the U.S. and Canada are joining the team to
help fulfill the many
needs of the group.
Crops of Luv, a non-profit organization of Arizona, recently marked
a new milestone. It
completed over 2,700 memory albums for families with critically and
chronically ill
children. These books document each child's "wish that came true."
