Happy Trails to Arizona
by Marshal, Sue Chretien

Well Howdy Pardners!

All of us here at the Circle 56 Ranch hope that y'all had a right durn good time here at the Happy Trails to Arizona Gathering! We sure had a mighty fine time hosting y'all, even if the Deputies are still recovering!

There are so many "thank you's to do" Thank you to Department 56 for helping to make this a huge success! We thank the Big Ranch Boss, Sue Azar for taking time out from her busy schedule to pay us a visit. Thank you to Cynthia Markle for the use of your husband Bruce, to help us bring justice to old Snaggly, and to you for adding that added "Sparkle of the Markle" to our festivities! I know that I heard from so many people saying that it was absolutely fabulous to have an artist at a Gathering, and I'm tickled that we started, what I hope will be a new tradition! Thank you to Melinda Seegers, who did countless many things to make this Gathering such a great success! So many behind the scenes things, plus the seminars, presenting the Collector of the Year, and being the link between the collectors and their beloved company. Thank you also to our local Department 56 Sales Representative, Lisa Johnson. Lisa is such a gem, and a delight to have, and her behind the scenes ranch worked is deeply appreciated by all of us! Thank you so much Department 56!

Also a HUGE thank you to the NCC for their sponsorship of the Cowboy Carnival which was such a hoot! Carnival games abounded with some musical accompaniment by the authentic Arizona Mariachi Band. Prizes were received by all who attended, and the NCC provided those delightful prizes! We give a big shout out to you and a big Arizona THANK YOU! I am thrilled to be working next year with such a great bunch of people!

Gerald Dickens was such a delight once again. He brought warmth and laughter and that touch of merry olde England to the Wild West, and I was told that he wore that Stetson cowboy hat home on the plane back to England.

Truly, however, the biggest T H A N K S of all has to go to our kinfolk, you - the collectors! Your generosity (even as I write this, brings tears to my eyes), it never ceases to amaze and humble me. With your help, we raised over $16,000 for Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, and Hospice of the Valley in the Phoenix metropolitan area. For y'all who are such nutty, crazy folk, y'all gots real nice hearts, and I truly and deeply thank you from the bottom of mine. The Marshal and her Posse (who were just the most fabulous folk to put on a Gatherning) thank all of you and we wish you beautiful holidays filled with the magic of the season. And if it gits too cold where y'all are y'all know that Arizona holds a bunch of friends more than happy to make y'all feel welcome again! Happy Trails to you, until we meet again!

Sue Chretien,
Marshal
