Club Information
  ABOUT US...

The Annapolis Villagers was founded in 1992. We are a non-profit organization of collectors interested in learning, sharing information about and promoting interest in the collectible items made by Department 56, Lemax and other village collections and providing a social forum for the members. Although we are based in Annapolis, MD, we have club members throughout the state of MD and other states. As we enter our 32nd year, our club members continue to enjoy collecting and displaying our villages. We meet every second Tuesday of odd-numbered months. The agenda at the meetings includes club business as well as:
♦ Presentations and demonstrations on village display ideas, tips and techniques
♦ Games (i.e., bingo, The Price is Right...)
♦ Door prizes, raffles, refreshments, etc.
♦ "Show & Tell" of favorite Dept 56 pieces and vignette displays
♦ Display vignette "Make & Takes"
♦ On occasion a guest speaker is invited
          ♦ Display contests

During the holiday season, we schedule tours of member homes to view their displays and decorations. Since we all truly love the holidays, this is always one of the highlights of the club's yearly agenda. During the year, we hold annual events such as the Sunday Brunch, summer picnic, Anniversary Banquet and Christmas Party. We also plan special events to places of interest to the club members. Past special events have included cruises and visits to museums, model train exhibits, historical sites, local festivals and theatres.
We were one of the sponsoring clubs for the eight Mid-Atlantic Village Gatherings (MAVG's) held during the period from 1994 - 2007. We are also a member of the National Council of 56 Clubs (NCC).
The club has supported a number of charitable organizations that includes Ronald McDonald House, Hospice of the Chesapeake, Arden House and H.O.P.E., Inc., SOS inc.
Membership in The Annapolis Villagers is open to anyone interested in lighted miniature village houses or any of the other collectibles, such as Snowbabies, made by Department 56.
